Welcome to PSHE at CCHS
PSHE equips students with the skills and knowledge they need to help them deal with the real life issues and situations they may face on a day to day basis as they grow into mature and well-rounded individuals. At CCHS, PSHE is delivered in Years 7-9 in a weekly, timetabled lesson and delivered by the PSHE teachers. In years 10 and 11 PSHE is delivered by tutors in two 30 minute tutor slots per week. The curriculum is planned to ensure age-appropriate topics are delivered at the right time to ensure the development of our student’s skills and values that are needed to be happy, healthy, safe, respectful and successful. Central to the curriculum are the following topics:
-
Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)
-
Future Ready- Careers and Finance
-
Safety- E-safety, Substances and Risk
-
Health- Emotional and Physical Wellbeing
-
British Values- Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty and Mutual Respect and Tolerance
Whenever possible we use visiting speakers and theatre groups to reinforce the messages we deliver in the programme. These include presentations on exploitation, knife crime, puberty and online grooming.
